Welcome to day 365 of 2006 !

Using this pass right up to the last day! Got the 2 trailers loaded and ready to go ........ with help from andy and his trusty chain saw we got this one trailer ready to go in no time ..... the other trailer already had be collecting stuf ....

Up steps Tommy and we get both trailer out onto the beach, we unload one, then head farther up the beach to find some more .... can never have too much wood!

This log I couldn't move far with my jeep ...... when the jeep came to a stop, this place cool place showed it's self and this became the site of the camp and it was protected from all the crazy 4x4 drivers, nice. This log took both vehicles to drag this into place and we left it till last but was too big to stand up!

We tugged , we pulled, we heaved, we ho-ed, but in the end all we could do was to get it rolled up to the pile, but it would burn, it all would burn ..... but we're not done making this pile just yet!

This fire produced some heat! It was quite awhile before we could get close to it, but it did burn ......

The surfers had their own little hide-y hole going on ...... and safe from the heat of the bonfire ..... but not safe enough from later on, and the fireworks wars!

No one camped out on the beach that night but me, and it was quite comfortable next to the fire, even when the wind clocked around and kicked in out of the north. My new ground pad / bivy bag worked great and protected me from the dew, then the blowing sands. I was snug as a bug in a rug! In the morning, the pile of wood was reduced to almost nothing! ....... and all the tequila was gone ..... Happy New Year! Want to see more fire stuff? How'bout the Phoenix?

This pass was well used ..... like all that came before it ..... but now's the time to get another ! btw, that's $302 worth of passes, before that I lived inside the park for many years and didn't need a pass.
